Hope
Hope is the small space in between all of your inner chaos. It is the silent whisperer that shines the light when we feel so desperately in the dark. It permits us to wake up and feel a movement through the next steps, despite the heaviness in our shoes. Hope is an invigorator and a seeker, and we must be the adventurers willing to follow the map to its location in our inner mind. Presenting the hope itself is not the key, the element of installing its wisdom to remind us that things can get better, is what keeps us moving.
In a therapeutic session, it is not about the cheerleading that can happen in these situations and provide “hope.” It is the shared space, the communion, and presence of the pain together, that allows for the darkness to lift. Hope is achieved not through a direction but through an opening in which we both share.
